Recently, a new trend in the consumer world has blossomed into fashion, makeup, pet supplies, food, etc...
. . . . Subscription boxes.
What's a subscription box? Well, it works the same way as a subscription to a magazine does. A monthly or yearly (or any time interval, in fact) payment is made, and depending on the subscribed company, a box of goodies are delivered to the subscriber's front door --- usually every month.
Subscription boxes are acually pretty cool. Finding a box full of surprise items catered to your interests is exciting and even more fun when you unwrap and open the package.
Some famous subscription boxes include Birchbox, Barkbox, and Ipsy. I have heard these names scattered throughout Youtube (my main source of entertainment), and maybe you have too.
Now, if you are a person like me who is wary of spending money on items you might not even need, there are a few subscription boxes available that not only give you what you pay for, but also use the money you pay for charity.
A subscription like that makes me feel like I am doing something, creating a little change, for the better good.
That is why I have committed my subscription to Love with Food. This company's tagline states "Snack Smart. Do Good."
I pay $10 a box every month for Love with Food to give me healthy snacks as well as to give a meal to a hungry child in America. $10 for myself feels wasteful, but $10 for myself AND a hungry child makes me feel like I am helping somebody in the smallest ways.
I'm glad to know that I am making a difference through Love with Food.
I hope more charitable subscription companies pop up in the near future!
Here is what my Love with Food subscription box looks like :)
